Is Klook Legit? Honest Klook Review: What’s Worth Booking
Klook is a travel booking platform that not so many people (at least in the US and Europe) seem to know about. As someone who used to book travel experiences on Klook and later made UGC videos for them, I got very used to using Klook as a main booking platform.
And if you’ve been wondering about the booking experience and if Klook is legit, then you’ve come to the right place.
Klook is similar to platforms like GetYourGuide and Viator, but offers a bit more, including train tickets, eSIMs, and hotels.
I’m going to give you my full Klook booking review. And by the end of this article, you’ll see whether Klook is legit, what’s worth booking on Klook, and what’s worth booking elsewhere.

How I Used Klook: Mini Klook Review
After booking experiences on Klook for over 2+ years, yes, Klook is very much legit.
I’ve bought tours, city passes, train passes (like the Eurail Pass!), and even eSIMs using Klook.
I’ve rarely had issues booking through Klook, and just like GYG and Viator, you can select your dates, times, etc. on the activity booking pages.
The Klook App for Planning Your Itinerary
My favorite part of using Klook is when you’re on a multi-day trip, and you have all the tickets in one place.
The Klook app lays out all your bookings in a schedule so it’s so easy to follow from one thing to the next. I don’t need to guess what’s happening tomorrow as I can just open the app and see the schedule.
Do I Prefer Klook over other Travel Booking Platforms?
At this point in time, yes, I do.
I collect Klook cash with my bookings, am used to the Klook App, and love that they offer products like transit tickets.
The only times I may prefer GYG or Viator is for some experiences in Europe. For the most part, I do book all my Europe tickets on Klook, but sometimes GYG has cheaper tickets and more availability for things like The Vatican and Colosseum in Rome.

Let’s get into Klook in more depth now that I’ve shared my own Klook review.
What is Klook?
Klook is a travel booking platform founded in 2014 with its headquarters based in Hong Kong.
It’s one of the most popular travel booking platforms in Asia, including users from Asia and those traveling in Asia. I feel weird generalizing it like that, but yeah, that’s the best way to sum it up.
But seriously, if I bring up Klook to other Americans, they usually only know it if they’ve spent time traveling in Asia, especially in countries like Japan or South Korea.
In recent years, they’ve been working harder to break into the US, UK, and European markets. Hence why I was working with Klook’s USA team doing UGC and collaborations.
Anyone from anywhere can book experiences with Klook, and the range of products is from around the globe. Any tourist destination you can imagine, they’ve got something for it.
Best Destinations to Use Klook? My Klook Experience
As I mentioned, Klook initially started off in Asia and really serves that travel market.
So, trust me when I say this: if you’re booking experiences in Asia, Klook will have no shortage (and usually have more) unique experiences and booking options.
Klook is especially great for Japan bookings, where you can book bundle passes to save money, Shinkansen tickets, and very niche experiences, like this food-sample making workshop.
Using Klook in destinations like Europe and the USA is also still perfectly fine, with tons of inventory.
Although I have found that prices may be higher, with fewer time slots available, when it comes to historic attractions like the Galleria dell’Accademia in Florence. If the price is higher than expected and there are few time options available, definitely double-check other platforms or even book directly instead.
What’s the difference to platforms like GetYourGuide & Viator?
The primary difference between Klook vs GetYourGuide and Viator is that Klook offers train tickets, bus tickets, eSIMs, and even hotels.

I found it super easy to book train tickets on Klook, especially when bought with other experiences, as I was able to find everything in an aligned schedule in the app.

What to Book on Klook & What to Book Elsewhere:
In this Klook review, the main question is what’s actually worth booking on Klook?
Is Klook legit? Yes. They have loads of incredible tours, products, and tickets, but not everything on there is the best option to book.
So let’s cover what is best to book on Klook, and I’ll also share my personal experiences throughout.
What’s Best to Book on Klook
For me, the best things to book on Klook are tickets, passes, and transport. Oh yes, and eSIMS.
Anything that has lots of reviews is also a safe bet if you’re still unsure.
Activities and Experiences
Booking day trips, museum tickets, and local experiences on Klook is a no-brainer. I mean, this is the initial concept of why Klook came about.
Once you make a booking, it’ll pop up in your schedule in the Klook App, and you’ll have a voucher to check in to your experience when the time comes.
The voucher will also contain all the information about the experience such as the location and meeting times.

Train Passes (Eurail, BritRail, Taiwan HSR)
Train Passes are one of the hidden gems of this Klook review.
I’ve bought both the BritRail England and Eurail Global Pass through Klook.
With train passes, Klook usually is just the booking space to purchase them. After booking, you’ll usually have to download the official rail pass app.
In my experience, booking train passes with Klook has been easy.
eSIMs
eSIMs are one of my favorite underrated things I couldn’t leave out of this Klook review. Yes, there are great competitors like Airalo out there as well, but sometimes Klook has offers you can’t find elsewhere.
The Klook eSIM was also perfect in Türkiye because many major eSIMs are banned there, so not having to worry about accessing the Klook app in Türkiye was a relief.
Train & Bus Tickets
Klook also has a separate booking section where you can buy train and bus tickets, similar to 123Go or Omio.
For example, you can search for Japan train tickets or Europe train tickets, as well as South Korea buses.
I used Klook to book my train tickets for Italy, and what I like about it is that you don’t have to figure out a different booking system on local platforms, which can sometimes be complicated.
For example, booking bus tickets in Korea can be difficult because they don’t accept foreign cards most of the time, so Klook makes it accessible and easy to book when you’re traveling in Korea.
Airport Transit Tickets
Another convenient option to purchase from Klook is airport transfer tickets.
Whether it’s through an airport bus, the train, or a private car, there are plenty of booking options so that when you land, you can get straight out of the airport.

And my final favorite product to include in my honest Klook review is their individual city passes, which combine some of the best experiences of each city into one pass.
You can usually select between 2 to 6 experiences, and many of the passes have up to 30 options, so you can pick what’s best and also decide on the activities based on where you’ll get the most savings.
Some Klook Passes I’ve used include the Klook Pass Paris and Klook Pass Rome.
What to (Maybe) Avoid Booking on Klook
While Klook is legit for all the experiences listed above, I still question using Klook for the types of bookings below.
Car Rentals
Klook really offers almost everything, even car rentals! I haven’t rented a car with Klook yet, and while they are partnered with major car rental sites, I prefer to book direct.
If you think you’d like to try to rent a car through Klook, I’d read the reviews first to make sure there haven’t been issues in the past.
Hotels and Stays
Klook is also pretty popular for hotel bookings, especially in countries like Japan.
I have yet to book a hotel on Klook, but if I were to, I would ensure there are plenty of reviews so I know the hotel is used to receiving bookings through Klook and there won’t be any complications on arrival.
Klook Booking Benefits & Tips
Another thing that can’t be left out of this Klook review is some tips for the smoothest booking process and the benefits.
Points
As you use Klook, you will earn KlookCash, which you can use toward other bookings. I recently got an eSIM, and I had enough KlookCash to pay for the whole eSIM, so it was essentially free!
Last-Minute Bookings and Flexibility
One thing to be aware of, as with other platforms, is that making last-minute bookings may not guarantee you a spot.
For day trips and transport tickets, for example, Klook has to first get confirmation from the provider, so you typically will get confirmation within 24 hours at the latest.
Voucher Instructions
Most importantly, always check your Klook voucher. Sometimes there are instructions on how to do something, where to meet, and contact for the provider in case of an issue.

Does Klook offer cancellation?
Most activities on Klook offer free cancellation, particularly up to 24 hours before the activity. Always check ahead before booking, just in case, to see official policies.
Does Klook offer discount codes and promos?
Klook runs many amazing seasonal discount programs, such as 5% off Europe train travel or offering eSIMs with bookings.
