Surrounding the Biomuseo in Panama City, I found myself intrigued by these abandoned spaces along the Amador Causeway. As a stranger who worked the area approached me, we chatted while I guided us away back to the main road.

He told me the once occupied houses and businesses were taken over by squatters who had since been moved from the area. All that remains are empty shells covered in graffiti and vines.
Since this, I’ve come to learn more about the U.S. Military’s role in Panama and it seems I explored an old military base.
