Taipei

My favorite hostel in Taipei with a spacious social room & space to work at. Near Ximending area and well located. The beds are spacious and there’s free coffee. The hostel also have nice private rooms.

The Energy Inn in Taipei is one of the nicer stays I’ve had in Taiwan. The rooms are super spacious and I recommend a room with a tub — it’s huge! The location is right in Xi

We Come Hostel

I had We Come Hostel in Taipei booked due to the great reviews, but cancelled because a friend offered me a place to stay! The hostel though has shared and private rooms and is definetly high-quality. The common space is also really nice looking!

Tainan

Light Hostel

If I’m in Tainan, you’ll find me at the Light Hostel. The rooms are comfortable and the social area is large and great for getting remote work done. The locatin is great as well as it’s within walking distance of many attractions and great food.

Jinshan (North of Taipei)

Surf Shop by the Sea

Small room in a surf shop. It’s cozy and the ocean is steps away from the place! There’s also a UBike station so you can grab a bike and get around the area with ease! The room itself is small, but walking up to the sight of the ocean everyday is perfect.

Kaohsiung

Flyinn Hostel

Unfortunately I never got to stay at Flyinn Hostel. I had it booked before but cancelled for some reason. It’s located by the MRT and easy to access from the airport. Plus look at that little workspace! Looks great for getting work done.

They also have very cute single rooms available.

Zoe’s & Tony’s Airbnb

This Airbnb is favorite place to stay in Kaohsiung! The hosts Zoe & Tony are so kind, there’s a table to work at, and the rooms are spacious as well. I’ve stayed here three times and their place is really great for the cost.

Let’s Hostel (Light Hostel)

Let’s Hostel (also branded as Light Hostel) is a chain in Taiwan. I’ve stayed at the Tainan branch and LOVE it there. I’ve never stayed at this one, but from the looks of the rooms and social space, it offers a great base for travel in Kaohsiung. It’s near the MRT and Liuhe Night Market.

Taitung

Light Hostel

The best part about staying at Hostel Who Knows, aside from the comfy beds is the close distance to the bus station. You can easily take a bus from Taitung train station, to the bus station and walk here.

I stayed three nights and would definitely recommend! There’s also some desks downstairs you can work at.

Dulan

Dulan Friends Hostel

Hands down, Dulan Friends Hostel is the spot! They offer dorm rooms and small private rooms. There’s a rooftop with an ocean view and the part part is the hosts — they’re so welcoming and have so much information to offer.

They even invited us for a group dinner the first night. It felt like a small family during my time there.
